Popular Nigerian hip-hop stars Peter and Paul Okoye, who dominated the Nigerian music scene with the stage name Psqaure for over a decade, have finally parted ways as Peter has made up his mind to go solo.
Peter, who sent a letter to their lawyer, Festus Keyamo (SAN), demanded for a termination of the agreement as a group. According to Vanguard reports on Monday, Peter based his decision on some serious allegations against his twin brother, Paul and Jude their older brother and manager.
According to the report, Peter accused his brothers of cancelling a planned tour of the United States without his consent. He also accused Paul of trying to tarnish the image of his family especially his wife and children with lies on the social media, adding that his family is being threatened.
Peter, who lamented that he was tired of the “drama”, had slammed his older brother Jude for allegedly threatening to kill him and shoot his wife Lola. He noted that his mind is made up and the only option was to quit.
Most of their fans were surprised to hear Peter take to social media to announce that he has quit the group after he posted a Snapchat video revealing that he is in Philadelphia on his own for a solo show. “My name is Mr P,” Peter said “As from today, guess what? It’s show time, I’m about to go on stage.”
There was a premonition to this latest bout of dispute between the twin brothers, when Paul took to his instagram, saying; “Only a woman can come where there’s peace and destroy it”.
Relationship between the Okoye brothers have been strained in the last couple of years following family disputes. It was earlier reported that they have parted ways, but they somehow made up, yet cracks remained in their relationship.
